INSTALLATION OF SWIMMING POOLS

All swimming pools shall be enclosed by a fence, not less than 48 inches (1.2 m) in the rural area and 60 inches (1.5 m) in the urban area in height, and otherwise installed in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaw No: 99:34 as amended.

Access to the pool shall be protected by a self-closing, self-latching gate in the required fence. Where a pool wall is at least 48 inches high and serves in lieu of a fence in the rural area, the ladder or other means of entry to the pool shall be protected with a fence and gate, as set out in the above By-law. Unprotected ladders, of any type are not permitted.

Before any excavation is performed any underground services should be located by contacting the appropriate utility.

The pool shall be installed so as not to block or interfere with any drainage swales, ditches, catch basins or water courses or other surface drainage features.

After installation of the pool, the lot shall be graded so that surface drainage does not adversely affect adjacent properties and is in conformity with any applicable subdivision agreement and/or the Lot Grading Policy of the Township of West Lincoln.

Backwash facilities shall not adversely affect adjacent properties.

The pool shall not be filled with water until it has been enclosed by a fence.
The pool shall not be put into use until it has been inspected and the use authorized.

INSPECTION

The Building Department shall be notified when the pool has been installed, the fence erected and the lot graded, if applicable, for the purpose of an inspection.
