The Township of West Lincoln is an agriculture-based community, consisting of many small hamlets spread over nearly 400 square kilometres.
West Lincoln is the largest geographical area in the Niagara Region, with the smallest population base - fewer than 13,500 residents. It is located along the western border of the Niagara Region.
West Lincoln is situated approximately ten minutes south of the Queen Elizabeth Way.
Like many rural communities, West Lincoln is best discovered by a drive along its scenic back roads, through sprawling farmland and meandering rivers. Twenty Mile Creek and the Welland River offer canoeing and kayaking opportunities.
Cyclists favour the quiet and scenic country roads. .
Country fairs and festivals are a mainstay in West Lincoln's villages.
Visit the Smithville Farmers' Market located on the Convenience Street Parking Lot, Downtown, and Smithville. This seasonal market opens the 2nd Saturday in May until Thanksgiving weekend. Open for one day only on for the Santa Claus Parade and for the Christmas Market both held in early December each year.
