TOWNSHIP OF WEST LINCOLN LAUNCHES COMMUNITY STRATEGIC PLANNING INITIATIVE

The Township of West Lincoln is pleased to embark upon an exciting new initiative in partnership with Mohawk College Enterprise (MCE) to assist in the development of vision and mission statements as well as in the development of a new community-based strategic plan.

“Visioning and strategic planning exercises are a way by which communities consider and manage future expectations and directions. It is a process that will allow us to assess where we are today, where we want to be in the future and is a roadmap that establishes strategic priorities to help us reach our goals,” said Mayor Douglas Joyner.

“The development of our community strategic plan will be collaboration between council, township staff, residents, businesses, organizations and community groups. Each one of us has an important role to play by providing invaluable input with the development of this very important document. Our future progress depends on it if we want to clearly manage expectations and drive positive change, said Chief Administrative Officer, Derrick Thomson”.

“People are at the heart of what makes a great community, said Mohawk College Enterprise President and CEO, Audie McCarthy. We are an organization guided by values focussed on community partnerships. As drivers of positive change, we are excited to be a part of this initiative. The synergies between the Township of West Lincoln and MCE are an integral part of our partnership and as such will lead to our success.” The Township of West Lincoln officially kicked off the public launch of the community-based strategic planning initiative at the council meeting held on Monday January 23 2011.
