TOWNSHIP OF WEST LINCOLN’S NEW WEBSITE

Over the past several months, Township staff have been working to improve the website’s content, navigation, design and technology, with the ultimate goal of creating an online presence that better reflects the Township of West Lincoln while providing the public and staff with improved access to everything the Township has to offer. The Township’s new website was launched on Thursday, May 28, 2020.  We encourage everyone to visit our new website.

LOCAL CONTRIBUTION FOR THE REBUILDING OF WEST LINCOLN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Council approved a resolution that the three local municipalities, being Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln together with WLMH Foundation, commit to providing an estimated contribution of $60,000,000 towards the rebuilding of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

WEST LINCOLN COVID-19 RECOVERY PLAN

The CAO briefly reviewed the Township’s Recovery Plan which will focus on recovery efforts and transition to what will be the new normal operating environment for the delivery of municipal services post-COVID-19.  As new actions are taken by other levels of government and new information surfaces, this plan will be modified accordingly. The protection and the health and safety of staff and our community will be our main focus and will guide us on all decisions made in this incremental phased approach to the municipality’s COVID-19 recovery plan.

2020 ROAD REHABILITATION TENDER – BUDGET AMENDMENT

Council awarded the tender submission received from Circle P Paving Inc. for the Township’s road rehabilitation works in the amount of $889,643.90 (excluding HST).

INDUSTRIAL PARK WATERMAIN TENDER

Council awarded the tender submission received from Alfred Beam Excavating Ltd. for the Industrial Park Watermain construction work, in the amount of $456,920.00 (excluding HST).

CONFIRM STREET NAME – VICTORIA AVENUE

Council and staff have been committed to resolving 911 PERS related street naming and numbering issues in West Lincoln. Staff have recently been informed through Regional Survey and Mapping staff, that 29 property addresses in their system were on a street named Vineland Townline Road and not Victoria Ave. Staff proposed that Council pass a by-law to confirm the name Regional Road 24 as Victoria Avenue.

APPOINTMENT OF NEW DEPUTY CLERK

Council adopted By-law 2020-53 to appoint Jessica Dyson as the Deputy Clerk for the Township of West Lincoln.  Ms. Dyson will be joining the Township on Monday, June 1st, 2020.  We look forward to the positive contributions that Ms. Dyson will bring to the position, the department and the Township.
