Update #3 - West Lincoln Response to COVID-19

For Immediate Release: March 16, 2020

The Township’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is active in response to the spread of the COVID-19 virus and moving forward on the best measures to protect the health of the public and staff.

Effective at noon on March 17th, 2020, the Township Municipal Office will not be open to the public until further notice. Employees will continue to report and work in the closed facilities and we will be exploring options for alternate working arrangements where applicable/necessary. Service to our residents will be available over the phone and we will be able to offer some services by appointment only eg cemetery services, planning and building. Please call the Township office at 905-957-3346 during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

Further to the earlier notice, the Administration/Finance/Fire Committee and the Public Works/Recreation/Arena Committee meetings that were scheduled for 6:30pm on Monday, March 16th will not be proceeding due to a lack of quorum of the members of those Committees.

The Township commits to keeping our residents informed as next steps unfold and we encourage residents to remain calm, seek information from credible sources such as Niagara Region Public Health, and take the necessary steps to stay healthy.
