West Lincoln Hosting Free Family Day Event
For Immediate Release: February 9, 2023
Celebrate Family Day with the Township of West Lincoln! The public is invited to join an array of fun festivities at the West Lincoln Community Centre, 177 West Street, in Smithville, on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Festivities will run throughout the day, kicking off with the West Lincoln Firefighters’ Pancake Breakfast, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. (or until all pancakes are eaten). Donations in support of the West Lincoln Firefighters' Association will be accepted (cash only).
Mark the Magician will perform two shows, at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., face painting will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Speaker and Author of My Ice Cream Sunday, John Golub, will be conducting a family oriented, motivational and inspirational talk that is perfect for all ages at 3 p.m.
Filling out the day’s festivities, the event will include free Family Open Gym, free Pickleball 18yrs+, sponsored public skating sessions, West Niagara Minor Hockey SuperSkills, and will conclude with a sledge hockey game between West Lincoln Firefighters and ParaSport Ontario. 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.: West Lincoln Firefighters vs. ParaSport Ontario Sledge Hockey Game
West Lincoln Public Library - Smithville Branch
The Smithville Library Branch, located inside the West Lincoln Community Centre, will be hosting MakerSpace sessions from 1 to 5 p.m. The public is invited to drop in and try out the Library’s new maker equipment, including a Cricut Maker 3, Ultimaker 3D Printer, sewing and embroidery machines, green screen, button maker and digital converters.
Concession Stand
The Dog Got It concession stand will also be open throughout the event, for anyone wishing to purchase a delicious meal between activities (debit is available).
