West Lincoln invites residents to show off their gardens in Best in Bloom challenge
Whether you grow prize-winning tomatoes, create a haven for pollinators or simply love adding colour to your front yard, the Township of West Lincoln is inviting you to put your garden in the spotlight.
In partnership with Communities in Bloom and Miracle-Gro, the Township is now accepting submissions for Best in Bloom. The garden challenge celebrates the creativity, care and community pride that residents bring to their outdoor spaces while recognizing the many ways gardens help beautify West Lincoln.
“Gardens do so much more than add beauty to our community. They create spaces for connection, support pollinators and encourage healthy living,” says Mayor Cheryl Ganann. “Whether you’re an experienced gardener or trying something new this season, I encourage everyone to take part in Best in Bloom and share the results of their hard work.”
Participants can enter one or multiple gardens in the following categories:
- Best Vegetable Garden
- Best Hanging Plant or Container Garden
- Best Pollinator Garden
- Best Lavender Plant
- Best Therapeutic Space
- Best Overall Garden
There is no limit to how many entries a person may submit. Please complete one form per entry. Participants and their subject gardens/plants must reside within the Township of West Lincoln.
Submissions are being accepted until 4 p.m. on August 6. Judging will be conducted from August 6 to 13, and winners will be announced on August 14. Winners will receive a garden sign, a Miracle-Gro gift package, and a letter of congratulations.
