Stanpac Ice Arena

The West Lincoln Community Centre is where you can find the best ice surface in Niagara and beyond. The Stanpac Arena is a brand new state-of-the-art facility. We offer skating programs for all ages and ice rentals are available. 

The West Lincoln Community Centre and Arena will be closed effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 12:01 AM until at least January 26, 2022 as per the new restrictions announced by the Provincial Government. As of September 22nd, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities. As of January 4th, 2022 the only acceptable form of proof of vaccination is the QR code. Some exemptions to the Provincial proof of vaccination mandate apply and can be found here Ontario Regulation 364/20

Skating Programs

All public skating takes place at the West Lincoln Community Centre at 177 West Street in Smithville. We strongly recommend using CSA-approved helmets for all skating activities.

At this time, we will be accepting CASH payments only.

Implied assumption of risk 

By participating in Township programs the participant accepts the risks associated with the activity and agrees to the following: 

I am aware that I may be exposed to infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, by using the Township of West Lincoln Arena and Community Centre, and I agree to assume all risks associated with contracting such illnesses and I waive all claims against the Township of West Lincoln that I may suffer by contracting such illness, regardless of how the illness was caused, including negligence on the part of the Township of West Lincoln.  I further agree to indemnify the Township of West Lincoln should anyone make a claim for damages against the Township as a result of my illness or should a minor in my care make a claim for damages as a result of his or her own illness. 

Skating schedule

Whether you are a toddler, infant, adult or senior; you can join a skating program. Participate in age-specific classes, public skating or play hockey with your friends. Please note some regular skating programs may be disrupted due to holidays, special events or other programs.

 Public Skating

Lace up your skates and enjoy the many health benefits of being active. Public skating is offered every weekend.

Public skating begins November 20, 2021

Proof of vaccination (two doses plus 14 days) with photo identification is required for anyone 12 and over to participate as mandated by Regional and Provincial Regulations. 

  • All persons over the age of 2 years old entering the West Lincoln Community Centre & Arena must wear a face covering as required under the Niagara Region by-law no. 2020 – 46 and O. Reg. 364/20. 

  • All participants will be required to complete the Provincial Covid-19 screening upon entry or complete online here. Please verbally attest to staff you pass upon arrival. 
  • Access to dressing rooms will occur no earlier than 15 minutes before skating time. 
  • Capacities of dressing rooms will be posted on each room door.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Capacity limits (100) in effect on a first come basis.
  • Physical distancing of 2m/6ft must be maintained outside your household.
  • All ice participants shall exit the West Lincoln Community Centre through the door at the rear of the facility.

General Public Skating Rules 

  • C.S.A approved helmets are strongly recommended for participants on the ice.
  • Skating aids permitted in cone area only. 
  • Speeding, tag games, horseplay and snowballs are not permitted.
  • All participants are required to wear skates on the ice surface.
  • Participants are not permitted on the on the ice while the Olympia is resurfacing.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.  
 Adult Skating
Adult skating is offered during the day during the week. This is a good time to practice your skating skills without the worry of crowding or speed.

 Pre-School Skating

Preschool skating is great for the preschooler just learning to skate. Adults have plenty of space and time to help their preschoolers learn the basics of skating.

Can't get enough of hockey? Come out to play shinny! It's a great opportunity to play fun pick-up hockey with friends without the worry of renting ice. Shinny is open to everyone.

Ice Rental Conditions

After you have reviewed the Ice Rental Conditions, you can complete the online Ice Rental Request Form. Recreation Services will review your submission, contact you with an approval or denial of your rental and provide you with next steps. Availability is limited.
