Leisureplex Playground Replacement

Background

The Leisureplex Playground is located within the Leisureplex Township Park, at 2543 South Grimsby Rd 6, in Smithville. The existing playground features a combined junior and senior play structure with monkey bars, a pull-up bar, a climbing area, a tic-tac-toe game panel, a tube slide, a double slide, a bridge connection, an animal and car stand-alone feature and swing sets, all of which provide the community with a place to play and enjoy the outdoors.

Replacing the playground, located within the Leisureplex Township Park at 2543 South Grimsby Road 6, in Smithville, was approved as a capital project in 2024. A total budget of $160,000 was allotted in the Township’s 2024 budget for this project.

Public engagement

A public survey was conducted June 4 to 20, 2024. Thank you to everyone who got involved; your input will help to shape the future design of the Leisureplex Playground.

Public notice will be provided once a project update is available.

The Township also developed a Recreation & Parks Plan, to reflect the changing needs of the existing Community and to help guide parkland development and recreational activities for future growth.
