West Lincoln champions local priorities at 2025 AMO Conference
Representatives from the Township of West Lincoln took part in the 2025 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference, held in Ottawa from August 17 to 20, where they met with members of Provincial cabinet to advocate for sustainable library funding and investments in Wellandport park and shoreline enhancements.
The AMO Conference is Ontario’s largest annual gathering of municipal leaders, providing a forum for communities to share priorities with the province and explore.

Fall drop-in gym, arena programs starting in SeptemberLace up your sneakers and skates and drop-in at the West Lincoln Community Centre, where the Township is offering a variety of unstructured activities in the gymnasium and arena.
The fall schedule of drop-in programs starts September 2 and includes the following:
- Family open gym
- Pickleball 18+
- Beginner pickleball 18+
- Advanced pickleball 18+
- Older adult social 55+
- Ukulele jam session 55+
- Youth open gym
The 2025-2026 schedule of ice programs begins September 8 and includes the following:
- Adult skating
- Low.

- Reject and call out harassment, abuse and personal attacks,
- Focus debate on ideas and policies, not personal attacks,
- Help build a supportive culture where people of all backgrounds feel safe to run for and hold office,
- Call on relevant authorities to ensure the protection of elected officials who face abuse or threats, and

West Lincoln joins Region in endorsing human trafficking prevention effortsAt its August 11 meeting, West Lincoln Council unanimously endorsed the development of a Code of Conduct for the Prevention of Human Trafficking in Niagara, being orchestrated by TOES Niagara and Brock University.
Niagara Regional Council endorsed this work at its June 26 meeting, following which, Chair Jim Bradley encouraged all local area municipalities to join in support.

West Lincoln issues burn ban effective Aug 11Fire Chief Tim Hofsink has issued a total open-air burn ban for all Township of West Lincoln properties due to extreme heat and dry conditions. Effective immediately, all West Lincoln burn permits are suspended until further notice, and all outdoor fires of any kind are prohibited.

West Lincoln lifts burn ban, advises caution to permit holdersWest Lincoln Fire Chief Tim Hofsink has determined that the risk of fire has adequately decreased. Effective immediately, the Open-Air Burn Ban is lifted for Township properties, and all valid 2025 West Lincoln burn permits are hereby reinstated.
