    West Lincoln receives $3,969,375 from Province for critical infrastructure

    Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff joined Mayor Cheryl Ganann at Township administration this afternoon, to announce that West Lincoln will be receiving $3,969,375 in Provincial funding through the second intake of the Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund.

  • Age Friendly Committee hosting NRPS for financial crimes presentation

    The Township of West Lincoln’s Age Friendly Advisory Committee is hosting a free presentation on April 11, to inform older adults about financial crimes and provide tools and tips to protect themselves against scams.

    The presentation will be led by a Detective from Niagara Regional Police Service and will delve into romance scams, crypto scams, spoofing legitimate/trusted businesses, phishing, grandparent scams, malware/spyware and scam implications of artificial intelligence.

  • West Lincoln champions support for infrastructure at 2025 ROMA Conference

    Mayor Cheryl Ganann, Councillors Joann Chechalk and William Reilly and Chief Administrative Officer Truper McBride represented West Lincoln at the 2025 Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference, held in Toronto from January 19 to 21. This annual conference enables municipal leaders to advocate for strategic priorities with provincial officials and connect with peers to share knowledge and ideas.

    The Township of West Lincoln is pleased to announce that, after a comprehensive recruitment process, Katelyn Repovs has accepted the position of Director of Corporate Services / Chief Financial Officer.

    Repovs started with the Township in 2019, bringing with her extensive experience in Public Accounting, with a focus on Public Sector clients.

    The Township of West Lincoln is pleased to announce that, after a comprehensive recruitment process, Gerrit Boerema has accepted the position of Director of Growth and Sustainability.

    As Director of Growth and Sustainability, Boerema oversees all aspects of growth and development and supports the sustainability of West Lincoln’s agricultural lands.

  • West Lincoln conducting public engagement about Canada Fleabane

    Should Council designate Canada Fleabane as a Local Noxious Weed in West Lincoln? That’s what the Township is asking the public to weigh in on through a new online survey.

    Background

    In 2024, the Township received correspondence from local farmers concerned about Canada Fleabane negatively affecting crops.

  • Winter drop-in programs start Jan. 6

    Lace up your sneakers and drop-in at the West Lincoln Community Centre this winter, where the Township is offering a variety of unstructured activities that promote movement and fun.

    The winter schedule of drop-in programs starts January 6, 2025, and includes the following:

    • Youth Open Gym

    • Family Open Gym

    • Adult Open Gym (18+)

    • Pickleball (18+)

    • Beginner Pickleball (18+)

    • Advanced Pickleball (18+)

    • FREE Older Adult Social (55+)

    • FREE Ukulele Jam Session (55+)

  • West Lincoln Receiving Increased Support Through Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund

    As part of the Ontario government’s historic increase to financial support for municipalities, Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West, announced on December 13 that the Township of West Lincoln will be receiving $1,232,900 in provincial support through the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.

    This is a local increase of $186,700 in provincial funding, directly benefiting residents and ratepayers in West Lincoln.
