The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) moved from a full, national strike to rotating strikes on October 11. Postal service has resumed; however, Canada Post has suspended all service guarantees due to uncertainty amid ongoing labour negotiations and is advising that customers should expect delays in processing and delivery.
The Township of West Lincoln announced on October 3 that third quarter water bills would not be delivered by mail due to the postal strike and were instead available for pick up.
In light of the latest updates from Canada Post and CUPW, the remaining unclaimed 2025 third quarter water bills were placed in the mail on October 16 for delivery and are no longer available for pick up. The Township cannot guarantee the timing of delivery.
Due balances can still be provided to customers over the phone. Contact the Finance division between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 905-957-3346 extension 6002.
Please remember, it is your responsibility to pay your water bills by the due date (November 3, 2025). Penalty and interest charges will continue to apply if payments are late. Extensions will not be granted because of postal delays.
Cheque payments can be brought to the front desk at Township Administration or left in the secure after-hour drop box located at the back entrance. Customers are discouraged from mailing payments as it may result in delays and late payment penalties.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for MyWESTLINCOLN to electronically access and manage bills without disruption.
