Children's multi-sport class: Sportball

The Township of West Lincoln presents Sportball! Sport instruction for kids. Sportball provides non-competitive sport instruction for children aged 16 months to 6 years. Classes help kids develop physical literacy and a life-long love of movement and sport. Emphasis is placed on competence and confidence building, socialization and fun!

Try Sportball - free PD day event June 6

Come give Sportball a try on your child's PD Day. Enjoy this FREE activity that will get your Sportballer active and outdoors on their day off from school. Classes will be held at West Lincoln Community Centre (177 West St, Smithville). You'll find us on the green space at the north end of the parking lot (near the skate park). In the event of inclement weather, we will move indoors to the arena pad (ice removed, of course!).

  • Ages 4 to 6 years - 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. - sign up now!
  • Parent & Child (ages 16 months to 4 years) - 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. - sign up now!

Sportball summer schedule

Children and parents are introduced to 8 difference sports through creative storylines, songs, rhymes and much more. The program focuses on exploration and children will be introduced to a different sport each week. Parents are encouraged to participate with their child and challenge them according to their skill level.

Multi-Sport Drop-Off Outdoor

Ages: 4 to 6

Dates: June 23 to August 18

Time: 6 to 7 p.m.

Cost: $160

This program introduces children to the concepts and skills involved in 8 core sports. Using developmentally appropriate methods to introduce, practice and refine gross motor skills, this program reinforces the benefits of teamwork and skills development rather than importance of winning, enabling children to gain confidence and develop the social skills necessary to succeed in sport and life.

Facility etiquette

Please follow our facility etiquette to help keep the gymnasium safe and enjoyable for everyone.

  • Indoor shoes only in gymnasium
  • Locker rooms are available for use
  • No food or drink allowed in the gymnasium except water
  • No horseplay, swearing, boisterous activity or noise pollution
  • Facility users must treat each other and staff with respect
  • Discrimination and/or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the Community Centre

Staff may ask participants to leave if facility etiquette guidelines are not being met.
