The Township of West Lincoln offers many fitness programs. There are programs available for all interests and levels. We strive to offer something for everyone in hopes that our residents have plenty of opportunities to live active lifestyles.

Fitness classes

All fitness programs are held at the West Lincoln Community Centre located at 177 West Street in Smithville. Fitness classes are offered three times per year. Sessions begin in the winter, fall and spring and run for 10 weeks. Register early to ensure your spot in a class.

We only accept cash, cheque or debit payments at the Township Office.

Visit us at 318 Canborough Street in Smithville between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

 West Lincoln Community Centre

We only accept cash or cheque payments at the West Lincoln Community Centre.

Visit us at 177 West Street in Smithville between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Dance

Dance classes are offered for all skill levels. Join a class to learn or expand on your ballroom, salsa, or line dancing skills. 

Line Dancing Beginner

This is a beginner class where you and your friends can learn the newest country line dances!

Line Dancing Intermediate

If you have already taken the beginner class or have some experience, then you are ready for the next step!

Older Adult Line Dancing

A great class to learn line dancing! A memory workout that will improve balance, coordination, flexibility and build your confidence.

Couples Ballroom - Latin Dance Beginner

Learn the Waltz, Salsa, Tango, Merengue, Jive (Swing), Bachata, Foxtrot, Cha Cha and more. No experience necessary!

Yoga

Yoga is a great way to keep in shape and practice relaxation. Whether you are looking for a class focused on strength, relaxation, or balance; you can find it below. Please bring a mat, strap and water bottle to class.

Yoga For Youth

Yoga is a great way to learn how to reduce stress, as well as improve concentration, mood, balance and flexibility.

Girls 12 to 18 - Thursdays 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm

Boys 12 to 18 - Thursdays 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a mid to slow paced class, focusing on building strength and balance while learning to quiet the mind and connect with your breath.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow will take you through asana sequences at a quicker pace and links movement with breath. This is not a beginner class.

Gentle Yoga

This class is slow paced and will focus on strengthening, relaxing, stretching, and breathing. Participants will use supports as needed.

Chair Yoga

A gentle form of Hatha where students experience the benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor.

Tai Chi

Bring balance and flexibility to your life by practicing the health improving movements of Tai Chi. This is a gentle fitness class suitable for older adults and is adaptable to all fitness levels.

Multiple class discounts

Tai Chi and Drop-In Programs are not included.

If you sign up for multiple fitness classes, we'll happily provide you with a discount. Combine any of the $85 classes:

  • 2 classes - $10 discount 
  • 3 classes - $20 discount
  • 4 classes - $40 discount
  • 5 or more classes - $70 discount

Older Adults (55+) receive a 10% discount on any $85 fitness class. (RC55+)
