The Township of West Lincoln offers a wide variety of recreational programs geared for older adults, aged 55 and over, including fitness classes, drop-in programs, creative activities and social gatherings.

All older adult programs meet at the West Lincoln Community Centre, located at 177 West Street, in Smithville.

Older adult fitness

Older adult drop-in programs

Drop in to the West Lincoln Community Centre to take part in pickleball, table tennis, crokinole, cards, ukulele jam sessions and other great unstructured sport and social programs. For more information, please visit our drop-in programs page.

The Best Years 55+

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our free "the best years" programming, made possible thanks to $20,970 in funding awarded through the Seniors Community Grant. The Seniors Community Grant is provided by Ontario’s Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, and aims to address social isolation and help older adults stay healthy, safe, and active in their communities.

Healthy, safe, strong exercise program

The Township of West Lincoln has partnered with the Niagara Region to offer this free community-based group exercise program that helps seniors improve balance and strength and reduce the chance of falls held at the West Lincoln Community Centre.

Seniors Community Programs Adult Day Program

Niagara Region offers an Adult Day Program in West Niagara at 18 Livingston Ave. Grimsby that focuses on helping older adults stay physically active, cognitively stimulated and socially connected.

The Adult Day Program offers a safe atmosphere where older adults, ages 60 years or older, can socialize and engage in meaningful programming. Program content encourages clients to reminisce, take notice, learn something new and participate in fun and meaningful activity.

An exercise class is designed to get clients active and promote physical health and wellness. Caregivers can benefit from valuable respite and peace of mind.

Hours

Planned programming is offered in three-hour, half-day sessions Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. - noon or 1 - 4 p.m.

Cost

Each half-day session is $16.20. There is a minimum commitment of one half-day session per week. Program participants are billed monthly. Free trial days are available.
