West Lincoln’s annual Community Tree Lighting is set to return on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at the West Lincoln Community Centre, 177 West Street, in Smithville.

The local Kiwanis chapter launched West Lincoln Shines in 2019 as a way to bring neighbours together in celebration. Kiwanis generously continues to lead this annual tradition in partnership with the Township of West Lincoln, Smithville Christian High School, Foodland, St. Martins Men, Stanpac, Rebecca Mullin Desjardins Insurance and Summer Heinen Royal LePage.

“Our tree lighting is one of my favourite traditions of the year,” says Mayor Cheryl Ganann. “It’s a time when our community comes together to celebrate the season, share in the warmth of friendship and family and reflect on the community spirit that makes West Lincoln such a special place to call home.”

Attendees will be treated to free hotdogs, hot chocolate, sweet treats and, of course, a glorious chorus of carols sung by the Smithville Christian High School choir.
