Get ready to kick up your heels and dosey-do. The Township of West Lincoln is inviting residents and visitors to Boots & Furrows, a brand-new free community line dancing event being held at the West Lincoln Community Centre on September 18 and 19.
Timed to complement the upcoming International Plowing Match & Rural Expo, which is expected to attract more than 70,000 visitors to Niagara, Boots & Furrows will keep the good times rolling long after the tractors are parked for the night.
The event will feature beginner-friendly instruction, led by none other than Urban Cowboy Line Dancing. The West Lincoln Community Centre will be transformed into a country-style dance hall, complete with toe-tapping tunes, friendly faces and plenty of room to kick up your heels. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable footwear – cowboy boots and hats are optional but encouraged.
“The International Plowing Match is all about celebrating our agricultural heritage, and this new line dancing event adds the perfect twist to the week’s festivities,” says Mayor Cheryl Ganann. “It’s a chance for neighbours and visitors to step in time, learn something new and share a laugh or two along the way. We hope you’ll join us to shuffle, spin and kick up some community spirit.”
