West Lincoln issues burn ban

Fire Chief Tim Hofsink has issued a total open-air burn ban for all Township of West Lincoln properties due to extreme heat and dry conditions.

Effective immediately, all West Lincoln burn permits are suspended until further notice, and all outdoor fires of any kind are prohibited.

The ban comes after West Lincoln firefighters were called to the third field fire in five days. Fire Services will continue to monitor conditions daily.

West Lincoln farmers are asked to please maintain a high level of awareness around their machinery while harvesting wheat, as the hot machinery may ignite the wheat or chaff.
