With excitement building for the 2025 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM), being held in Grassie from September 16 to 20, West Lincoln Mayor Cheryl Ganann is encouraging Niagara to showcase its beauty and community spirit.
Mayor Ganann has issued an official challenge to the Regional Chair and her fellow Niagara Mayors to join the IPM’s Beautification Competition. The competition invites all of Niagara to enhance its visual appeal through creative community displays that reflect the region’s agricultural roots and rural spirit.
“West Lincoln is proud to be the host municipality for this historic event,” says Mayor Ganann. “As we prepare to welcome the world to our region, I’m calling on all of my colleagues and friends to dig in, quite literally, and help us show off everything rural Niagara has to offer. Let’s put our best foot forward as hosts and neighbours and make Niagara shine!”
Individuals, families, businesses and community organizations are also encouraged to take part in the effort. The competition not only aims to impress IPM visitors but to also strengthen collaboration and hometown pride across the region.
The 2025 IPM takes place September 16 to 20 at the West Niagara Agricultural Centre and Fairgrounds. Visit the 2025 IPM website to find more information about the event and the beautification competition, including categories, judging criteria, rules and prizes.
