The Township of West Lincoln is developing an Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and is inviting residents, developers and community partners to share their input on how the Township can encourage more housing options for low- and moderate-income households.
This project will identify local housing needs and explore a range of financial and non-financial tools to encourage the development of affordable and attainable housing in West Lincoln.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to call West Lincoln home,” says Gerrit Boerema, Director, Growth and Sustainability. “This plan is about working together to find practical, creative solutions to help make housing more accessible and ensure our community remains welcoming to all.”
“Housing is a foundation for health, security and belonging,” says Cynthia Summers, Director, Community and Protective Services. “When people have access to safe, affordable homes, they can build their lives, support their families and contribute to a stronger community. By working together, we can create solutions that help make West Lincoln a place where everyone can put down roots and thrive.”
Share your thoughts on how to make housing more affordable and accessible for everyone by completing the online survey, open from October 23 to November 13.
Paper surveys are also available at the Township Administration Building, West Lincoln Community Centre and West Lincoln Public Library Canborough, Smithville and Wellandport branches.
Feedback gathered through this process will help shape a new Affordable Housing CIP for West Lincoln, which will serve as a framework to guide Township initiatives and partnerships aimed at supporting a wider range of housing options.
