Final preparations are underway for the 35th annual West Lincoln Santa Claus Parade being held on Saturday, November 29, starting at 5 p.m. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their parade day to ensure the best possible experience.
Start your day with some holiday shopping! The Township is holding a special Holiday Market on the morning of the parade. Come out to the West Lincoln Community Centre, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 29, to peruse a wide selection of quality products and creations from local vendors.
Smithville United Church is holding breakfast with Santa from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 29 at 116 West Street. Santa will arrive at 10 a.m. The event is free with donations to West Lincoln Community Care and the Church. Toy and non-perishable food donations are welcome.
St. Luke’s Anglican Church is also holding a bake sale and craft market at the St. Lukes Community Hall, 216 Station Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 29.
The parade will start at 5 p.m. from the West Lincoln Community Centre, travelling east on West Street, continuing south on Regional Road 20 and concluding at the corner of St. Catharines Street and Industrial Park Road.
Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly, bring their own lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early to claim their spot.
Parking spaces will be reserved at Smithville Garage, 215 St. Catharines Street, exclusively for those who need accessible parking.
The parade will again provide an opportunity for attendees to give back and support community members in need. West Lincoln Fire & Emergency Services will be collecting non-perishable food donations to benefit the West Lincoln Community Care Holiday Hampers.
Road closures will begin at 3:30 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. Residents are asked to please not park along the parade route during that time.
Complete the day's festivities with a public skating session at the West Lincoln Community Centre from 7 to 8 p.m. Find general public skating rules and fees.
