The Township of West Lincoln’s Age Friendly Advisory Committee is delighted to announce the receipt of a $2,500 grant through the Seniors Active Fair Funding Program. This funding will support the delivery of a Seniors' Active Living and Information Fair.
“We’re incredibly grateful to receive this grant in support of our Seniors’ Active Living and Information Fair,” says Councillor Greg Maychak, the Council representative on the West Lincoln Age Friendly Advisory Committee. “This funding allows us to create a meaningful event where people can connect, share their voices and access valuable information and resources. Supporting older adults in our community is a priority and this fair is an important event to make sure they feel heard, respected and included.”
The Seniors’ Active Living and Information Fair will take place at the West Lincoln Community Centre on September 26, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with greetings from the Honourable Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors & Accessibility. The free event will run until 2:30 p.m. and will include special guest speakers, a light healthy lunch, active sessions plus dozens of storefront booths connecting older adults to relevant resources and services.
“On behalf of the Township, we are honoured that Minister Cho will be in attendance at this event,” says Mayor Cheryl Ganann. “His support truly underscores the value of investing in the health and wellbeing of older adults and fostering a community where every generation thrives.”
The Township of West Lincoln and its Age Friendly Advisory Committee acknowledge and thank the Government of Ontario for the funding provided to the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario for the implementation of the 2024 – 2025 Seniors Active Living Fair project.
