West Lincoln joins Region in endorsing human trafficking prevention efforts

At its August 11 meeting, West Lincoln Council unanimously endorsed the development of a Code of Conduct for the Prevention of Human Trafficking in Niagara, being orchestrated by TOES Niagara and Brock University.

Niagara Regional Council endorsed this work at its June 26 meeting, following which, Chair Jim Bradley encouraged all local area municipalities to join in support.

Fire Chief Tim Hofsink has issued a total open-air burn ban for all Township of West Lincoln properties due to extreme heat and dry conditions. Effective immediately, all West Lincoln burn permits are suspended until further notice, and all outdoor fires of any kind are prohibited.

West Lincoln, in collaboration with the Niagara Physicians’ Healthcare Alliance, Niagara Region, and the other 11 local municipalities are coming together to encourage residents to Connect to Care and Find a Doctor today on the updated Find a Doctor webpage that helps residents locate and register with over two dozen available family doctors in Niagara.
