Update # 38 – Response to COVID-19 – Ontario Government puts “Emergency Brake” on the entire Province in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19

West Lincoln, Ont. – April 1, 2021

As cases continue to rise at an alarming rate, the Ontario Government puts an Emergency Brake on the entire Province to address concerning trends in public health indicators.  This becomes effective April 3rd, 2021 and will be in place for at least 4 weeks.

If you are 60 years of age or older. You can now book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment

The Provincial COVID-19 vaccine registration portal is now open. Individuals who are 60 or older in 2021 and wish to make an appointment or an individual trusted to make an appointment on their behalf can now book an appointment either online at Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Information Line number at 1-888-999-6488.

2021 OPERATING AND CAPITAL BUDGET

Council approved the 2021 Operating and Capital Budget at a Special Council Meeting held on Monday, March 1st, 2021.  At that meeting a general tax levy of $8,054,840 was approved along with a new levy for the WLMH (West Lincoln Memorial Hospital) rebuild totalling $75,300.  This total levy of $8,130,140 represents a 6.68% levy increase over 2020 after factoring in assessment growth.  This approved...
